Turtle Man

This turtle man was made in the Fall of 2025 for my film An Ambitious Project. He is made from a wire and epoxy sculpt armature along with a sculpted head. I sewed the pants and shoes by hand, and learned to crochet the sweater. More details about his fabrication process can be found here.

Abby

This puppet was created for my Stop-Motion Collaboration class in the Spring of 2025. This character is an adaptation of Abby from the Swamp Thing comics. I was fortunate enough to be given a ball and socket armature to start with, so I could focus on the costuming and face.

What I’m working on now…

Bee [wip]

At Massart all juniors take Animation 4: Production, which is a course that requires students to complete a semester long film. For my film, I have elected to create a stop-motion animation surrounding a bee with a broken wing. I want to make him soft and sweet, so he is covered head to toe in felt. The translucent part of the wings will even be a sheer organza to maintain the fabric theme.

witch [WIP]

This semester I am a teaching assistant for Stop-Motion Collaboration 2026. We have had few classes due to snowstorms, so it’s all hands on deck. While helping out other students, I am creating a classic witch character with green skin, black clothes, and a very tall pointy hat. The base is a pre-built ball and socket joint armature, with brush on silicone skin. This is my first dive into silicone, and so what you can see to the left is just one layer.

What I am most excited about is the clothing construction. I adore the big dramatic sleeves and skirt in the design and am eager to add all the little details. So far, I have drafted a pattern for, and nearly completed, the bodice and sleeves.
